I think I remember reading about some company out there that organizes cruises on a viking ship and you actually live like a viking while you’re on board. Can anyone provide me with information?
Viking Cruise Lines actually offers cruises on Viking Ships (since they are theirs)
I didn’t think any cruises had… but now I am hearing overwise.
I have a cruise in a month to the Carribean.
So it’s kind of important that I find out.
Thanks:)
Haven’t heard about ANY. The only ones so far that I could even imagine being affected would be ones out of Galveston or New Orleans. Most of the cruises go out of Florida’s east coast or out of Tampa, and none of those places has been affected by the spill. The spill also is not near any of the ports of call for Caribbean cruises, so, again, there’s no reason to cancel. Even if there were oil near one of the ports, the cruise would be diverted to a different port.
You’ll have more to worry about with possible hurricanes than you will with the oil spill….
I am trying to book a cruise to coincide with an anniversary, and we wanted to drop the kids at Grandma’s in San Diego and go. But there aren’t any cruises that sail at that time or in any of the surrounding months. Anybody know why?
Cruiselines offer different cruises from different ports at different times of the year. During the summer months, cruises to Alaska are quite popular and those ships may have been redeployed to Seattle or Vancouver.
From the southland, you can take a cruise to Mexico from either Long Beach on Carnival (3, 4 & 7 nights) or Los Angeles on Royal Caribean (7 nights only). Not as convenient as leaving from San Diego since that’s where grandma is but not too far either.
Have fun!
and PLEASE do not spam with an advertisement or I will report you. I want answers from consumers who have used various cruise websites for deals on cruises. There seems to be so many out there all claiming to be the best in price…but they all seem to have the best price. I want to book a cruise on either Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, or Celebrity to the Caribbean this summer. Let me know your opinions.
If I was you I would find a good local travel agent. They can get you just as good a deal than the internet sites. Plus they know all the little tricks the cruise line’s spring on you after you buy your tickets. PLus many times travel agents have reserved blocks of cabins on certain cruise lines that include a lot of extras you don’t get with a web site. And the most important thing is you have access to a real live local human being that looks after your best interest and gets you the most bang for your buck. They know all the horror stories . I prefer the human touch.
I want to avoid flying. Are there any cruises that exist that let you depart and return to the, let’s say, East Coast? I have only found a few that depart from the East Coast period, and all of them are "one-way" and would result in me buying a plane ticket from Europe back to the US…
try Cunard.

thats an "ocean liner" as opposed to a cruise ship. these ocean liners do the transatlantic routes.

I read on Princes cruises it cost over a grant to marry on the ship, is there a way to marry on the ship4less? I dont want flowers, I dont want champagne, I want to walk up with my boyfriend and get married and walk out. Thats all, does it really have to cost a grand?
I would bet that if you asked Princess, you could do it for a lot less. $1,000 is a package deal that includes like you said, flowers, champagne, and other stuff. I got my marriage renewed and it cost us like $200 or less. So the bottom line is ask Princess and see what they can do for you. I do know that one of the reason for the $1,000 cost is they block off a hall way when you get married so you have privacy, plus the use of the chapel too.
I am going on a cruises to the Bahamas for my 21 brithday and I whant to get a good price.

Happy Birthday.)
I am currently a college student. I am looking for cheap cruises for spring break leaving in February for a small group of people. We want a cruise for 4-7 days. If anyone knows of any good sites to look at please let me know. Thanks.
I just got back from a cruise with the same crowd. Four of us, and a 4night cruise. We had a large interior room, which was really not all that big. We were barely in the room, so this didn’t matter. You’ll be doing enough activities where you shouldn’t worry too much about the size of a room. The four of us each paid $350 and then added $40 for pre-paid gratuities. This saved us the hassle of having to tip everytime we were at the bar, etc. We also smuggled on over 100oz of liquor. We used cheapcruises.com, and a couple we met used overstock.com. E-mail me if you have questions.. pegggg@gmail.com
What specific web site address will get me an answer to my question about a Mariner’s number for Holland America cruises?
www.hollandamerica.com is their website. When you go there, it will ask you to register, if you haven’t done that already. Well all that you have to do is click on Mariner’s number icon that is underlined, and they will send you an email with the number. If that doesn’t work, if you are a past guest, then you can call Holland America’s 800 number and they will give it to you.
You have to be a past guest that has sailed with them before to get a Mariner number. If that is the case, and you still have you ticket stubs, it will have it on there as well.
