What is the best site for deals on cruises?

June 26, 2010 - 2:27 pm 1 Comment

and PLEASE do not spam with an advertisement or I will report you. I want answers from consumers who have used various cruise websites for deals on cruises. There seems to be so many out there all claiming to be the best in price…but they all seem to have the best price. I want to book a cruise on either Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, or Celebrity to the Caribbean this summer. Let me know your opinions.

If I was you I would find a good local travel agent. They can get you just as good a deal than the internet sites. Plus they know all the little tricks the cruise line’s spring on you after you buy your tickets. PLus many times travel agents have reserved blocks of cabins on certain cruise lines that include a lot of extras you don’t get with a web site. And the most important thing is you have access to a real live local human being that looks after your best interest and gets you the most bang for your buck. They know all the horror stories . I prefer the human touch.

What is more popular among french teens, downhill skiing or cross country
?
What do young people do in the afternoon of L’Aid el-Fitr?

I have a number of good friends, and acquaintances, in the southeast of France (in and around Grenoble), and they all seem to be strongly preferable to downhill skiing. When I was in high school, a friend of mine went to visit a mutual friend of ours in France during the winter, and he went downhill skiing. From what I observed during the time I’ve spent in the region, downhill skiing is very popular, as there are many mountains, and Switzerland is very close by.

However, I’m sure cross country is more popular in flatter areas, like Limousin, than it is in the Rhone Alps.

As to what young people do on Eid Al-Fitr, I don’t know, as I do not know any French Muslims.

What are the reasons why fishing boats don’t have survival gear compartments and harnesses onto the hull?

June 17, 2010 - 6:57 am 4 Comments

Poor fishermen die because they can’t hang on to their expensive capsized boats.

Many fishing boats do have a full complement of survival gear on board. It just depends on what the owner/captain wants to invest in. 2 extra downriggers or a liferaft and epirb.
Priorities … You makes your decisions and you lives or dies by them.

Would I get any benefit if I bought a time share?

I travel one week a year and I was offered a two-week-a-year time share, should I buy it? It’s $4567 a year in fees.

The time share business is full of scam artists. $4500. a year pays for a great vacation why tie yourself down to a time share.

Is downhill skiing effective cross training for runners?

June 17, 2010 - 6:57 am 3 Comments

I’ll be skiing about 8 hours each day for 5 days next week (in addition to my regular running plan). Will this help at all?

Skiing may be very tiring for your legs, but I don’t think it will substitute for running.
Cross country skiing would probably work, but down hill is not using your legs in the same way as running does.
It would be better if you did a few miles on the treadmill before hitting the slopes in the mornings.

There are some great hobby quality boats that are good for pools available from mail order hobby stores. Try looking at the following sites:
www.horizonhobby.com
http://search.horizonhobby.com/index.jsp?sid=128F6037783C&Ne=5000&Ntt=boats&N=532+5790&vno=72
www.towerhobbies.com at http://www.model-ships.com/
or www.advantagehobbies.com

You can also find some great pool boats at local hobby stores, both free sailing and radio controlled. Ask at your local hobby store, they can probably show you a catalog and bring something in stock that is exactly to your liking.

How many vacations has Obama taken since becoming the US president?

It seems like every other week, Obama and family are jetsetting away to Hawaii or Chicago, so just how many vacations has Obama taken since becoming president? How many vacations did Bush take?

Obama is on pace to become the most golfing president in US history.

He even blew off the funeral of nearly the entire government of one of our closest allies to golf. What a guy!
